What we do

  • COMMUNITY. We run programmes around Scotland offering transformative walks to local communities and the organisations and charities who support them.

Our work is based on the foundational importance of time in nature as a key aspect of mental and physical health. We welcome participants to The Glen Farm, our base in Galloway, to experience the abundant flora and fauna found there, but we also travel to wherever our partner organisations are based to run on-site events in their immediate locale.

  • PARTNERSHIPS. We organise curated experiences with partner estates across Scotland, introducing participants to the rich diversity and beauty of each unique location.

Walking with careful attention, we use the practical skills of foraging and tracking to introduce participants to their surroundings, forging a dynamic connection with the varied habitats we explore. Our events have been described as ‘fascinating’, ‘illuminating’, and ‘life-changing.’ Participants often book repeat experiences in order to gain deeper insight and learn among different habitats and seasons. As we are often told - ‘one walk is not enough!’

  • A pleasure to work with and their events are extremely popular with our wide range of visitors.

  • It was truly eye-opening to see how much beauty is right on our doorstep. It’s wonderful for the people we support to experience nature in such a unique and engaging way.

Andrea Donaldson - Service Manager, Carr Gomm

  • I never thought a wee walk in the glen could make such a difference to how I feel.

    Robin - Walk Participant, Glasgow

  • Our ongoing collaboration with Plant Listening is a source of great pride for our estate and joy for our clients.

Sir Ludovic Shaw Stewart - Ardgowan House, Castle & Gardens

  • I see the world with new eyes, and feel like a different person to who I was this morning.

    Jake - Walk Participant, Perthshire

  • We have been so pleased to work with Plant Listening. Tamara and her team are so knowledgeable, welcoming and warm. The refugees we support have appreciated from the warm and inclusive atmosphere, and both they, and our support team, have benefitted by spending time with plants and recharging our batteries at the beautiful Glen Farm.
